BETTER PLAY AT CHURCHFIELDS
Pupils from Churchfields School gave a resounding “thumbs up” at the opening of their local playground following an £80,000 refurbishment.

Pupils from Churchfields School gave a resounding “thumbs up” at the opening of their local playground following an £80,000 refurbishment. Redbridge Council successfully bid for big Lottery funding to invest in new play facilities and improved safety to the popular play area, and local children lent a big hand in deciding the kind of improvements that were made.
The new play area includes a double basket swing, multi-play adventure equipment and natural play facilities. Existing equipment has been repaired and re-painted, new signage and safety surfacing have been installed along with a dedicated seating area for parents and guardians.

Cllr Linda Huggett, cabinet member for leisure, culture and the olympics said, “We are committed to ensuring the borough’s young people have access to adequate play facilities and the work undertaken at Churchfields represents the latest in an ongoing programme of improvements to parks and open spaces throughout Redbridge”.
Redbridge Council is in the process of introducing improved play facilities
at a total of 10 sites across the borough by the end of this month.
