Your Conservative Councillors have helped secure £170,000 of funding for improvements to Albert Crescent which will see shop-fronts refurbished and the art deco barometer & clock restored to their former 1920’s glory. Also on the cards is a new, more open public space - which could be used for a Farmers’ Market - and improved security measures.
The Christmas tree purchased with Ward Forum funds will be retained and extra trees will be planted which will be lit all year round. All of these new & restored features will join the Civilian War Memorial, a Conservative initiative which finally came to fruition last year.
We want to build on our earlier success of 15 minute free parking and hope these improvements will make shopping and doing business at Chingford Mount much more attractive and enjoyable.
