The Ultra Low Emission Zone now applies in central London. This means any time somebody drives a non-exempt vehicle inside the zone, they will be charged £12.50.

But worse is to come. Labour want the charging zone to expand to the A406 in 2021. That means £12.50 to drive to Whipps Cross from Chingford & Highams Park. And if you’re inside the North Circular, £12.50 every time you drive anywhere!

Conservative candidate for Mayor of London, Shaun Bailey, opposes the expansion of the zone, because it will hit older people, the low-paid and others who need their vehicles, but can’t afford to change them.
