Following a number of serious shoplifting incidents in Boots on Station Road we met with the Head of the Neighbourhood Policing Superintendent Lora John, Inspector Mason, and Boots UK Head Office to discuss what action is being taken to tackle this issue.
We are pleased that in the last 12 months Boots have invested in the upgrade of their CCTV cameras inside and out of the store and are looking to introduce “Body Worn cameras” to protect the safety of their staff.
As ever, we insisted that there is a need for an increased police presence on Station Road to deter and target the criminals.
We are in the process of organising a meeting with the Police and other high street chains, such as Amazon UK, Tesco and Co-op along Station Road to discuss how this issue can be tackled together.
