At the start of April, Waltham Forest’s Labour Council introduced harsh new parking restrictions on our high streets, ignoring the voices of 6,000 residents who signed our petition and the 89% who opposed the plans in an official consultation that cost the taxpayer £20,000.
As a result, many residents are no longer popping into local shops and are instead driving to out-of-town retail parks where parking is free and easy. Our initial campaign successfully SAVED SUNDAYS from being charged, but we now need Labour to go further and reinstate 15 minutes of free parking every day.
Local businesses are already reporting a significant drop in footfall, with some warning they may be forced to close within months if things don’t change
I, the undersigned, call on Waltham Forest Council to bring back our 15 minutes free parking
