Sam Malik, who is standing for the Conservatives in the London Assembly constituency which includes Chingford, has called for TfL to think again about installing more Oyster gates at the station to reduce over-crowding when peak trains arrive in the evening. Sam, who met Iain Duncan Smith at the station recently to discuss the problem, said,
“Passengers used to be able to exit the station off platform 3 and go straight out to Beresford Road, but now they can only exit through the four gates at the main entrance. When trains arrive in the peak there can be a dangerous crush and people delayed. I’d like people to complete my survey and tell me what they think about this and any other ways the service from Chingford could be improved.”
