Barts Health, Waltham Forest Council and all three local MPs support the plan to re-build Whipps Cross, parts of which are more than 100 years old.
The project will see a completely new hospital built, funded by £350m from the Conservative Government and from the future development of surplus land for housing, much of which will be reserved as affordable housing, including for keyworker NHS staff.
The NHS is benefitting from the Conservatives long term plan, which will see funding rise by £400m a week by 2023. As your local MP, I want to see 21st century healthcare delivered in a new hospital for people in Chingford, Woodford Green, Walthamstow, Leyton and Leytonstone.
That’s why I recently asked the Prime Minister and Health Secretary to visit Whipps Cross and why I will keep pushing for confirmation of the capital grant funding award.
