Iain Duncan Smith MP has given his full support to the campaign calling for traffic calming measures outside Chingford Church of England Primary School on the busy Kings Road.
Iain and Conservative Councillors Mitchell Goldie, Roy Berg and Emma Best joined protesters gathered outside Chingford Church of England Primary School in March, to challenge the decision of Waltham Forest Council to not fund a replacement for a much loved lollipop man who has now retired.
Iain has raised parents’ serious concerns about the speed of traffic in Kings Road with the Chief Executive at Waltham Forest Council and Transport for London. He has asked that the Council help the school with permanent funding for a lollipop person, or to install a pelican crossing.
Your local Conservative Councillors have already taken action. Cllr Roy Berg has secured agreement for the speed-activated signs, which should be installed this month and we have agreed to provide some funding towards a lollipop person this year from our Community Ward Forum funding.
